AL-Mehran Rural Development Organization (AMRDO) is a nongovernmental, nonpolitical, non partisan, non profitable social services providing organization. AMRDO was established in the year 1998 and registered under the Society’s Registration Act of 1860, European Union has recognized AMRDO for project partnership and the process for tax exempted PCP Registration is underway. AMRDO is working for the socio economic empowerment of poor rural and underserved communities through participatory development initiatives in Sindh and Baluchistan. The philosophy behind the establishment of AMRDO was to bring respite among the lives of those vulnerable communities who are quite far from the normal standard of life. Mission & Vision

AMRDO’s vision is Socio Economic Empowerment of poor communities through participatory development.

AMRDO endeavors for marginalized masses of Pakistan, to enhance empowerment through institutional development, Social and Financial services and other sectoral programs.

Geographical area of operation

The Organization’s over all focus has been on Sindh and Baluchistan provinces.

AMRDO has been unceasingly serving the rural backward communities in the districts of Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Umerkot, Jamshoro, & Tando Allahyar in Sindh and Jaffarabad in Balochistan.

Flood 2010 Status of losses & Damages

Flood 2010 one of the severe floods in century old history of Sindh has brought great havoc in Pakistan and Sindh province. It has inundated three provinces of Pakistan including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Southern Punjab and Sindh province.

ANTI-FRAUD HOTLINE

(a) "USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.Complaints are handled with complete confidentiality and individuals are encouraged to report when corruption, fraud, waste or abuse may exist in the USAID/Pakistan projects.Reports can be filed anonymously via the easy-to-use Hotline(toll free number 0800 84700); e-mail at complaints@antifraudhotline.com; fax at 021-35390410; postal address at 5-C, 2nd Floor Khayban-e-Ittehad, Phase VII, DHA,Karachi, Pakistan; and on the website www.antifraudhotline.com."

(b) Fraud awareness materials (in all regional languages) are available at www.antifraudhotline.com, and the Contractor/Grantee/Recipient must use reasonable efforts to ensure that USAID/Pakistan's sub awardees are provided these materials.

(c) The Recipient must prominently post notice(s) of USAID/Pakistan's Anti-Fraud Hotline within public areas of its project's offices and implementation areas in the appropriate local languages (unless USAID agrees to the contrary in special circumstances i.e. security threats or law and order issues).Copies of the posters are available at Anti-Fraud Hotline office and can be requested by contacting the hotline number or emailing them at complaints@antifraudhotline.com.
